Shangri-La - the very name conjures up images of an idyllic abode of great beauty and peacefulness concealed somewhere among the Tibetan peaks - a place and a way of life that preserves that which is finest in both humanity and the world.
Immortalised in James Hilton's Lost Horizons, Shangri-La may have been a figment of his imagination, but in Tibet, Xinjiang, Qinhai, Sichuan, Yunnan and Bhutan - there are places which come close to the ideals of a Shangri-La, being remote, peaceful and possessing incredible beauty; each one a paradise on Earth.
Begin your journey here - set out on a personal odyssey to discover your own Shangri-La! |
